Sentencing — arson. The defendant, an existing prisoner, faced a charge of arson for setting fire to a mattress in the correctional facility. The defendant had received a sentence indication of 15 months' imprisonment if she pleaded guilty. The defendant declined the sentence indication but entered a guilty plea anyway, not based on the indication. The Judge structured the sentence with starting point of 18 months' imprisonment with an uplift of one month given the defendant was already serving a prison sentence, and a discount of four months for the guilty plea. The end sentence of 15 months was to be cumulative on her current sentence. Judgment Date: 23 October 2018.
