Domestic violence — injuring with intent to injure — Nuku v R [2012] NZCA 584. Defendant sentenced on a charge of injuring with intent to injure. The offending fell into band 2 of Nuku, and the appropriate starting point was two years and six months’ imprisonment. An uplift of 12 months was given for previous criminal history. After a 20 percent discount the final sentence was two years and eight months’ with a minimum of 50 percent of the sentence to be served.Judgment Date: 1 June 2016.
