Sentencing — assault with intent to injure — assault with a weapon — Sentencing Act 2002. The defendant was sentenced to a total of two years’ imprisonment on a number of charges. A sentencing indication for a number of charges was given and accepted for 12 months with a further 12 months for a charge of assault with intent to injure relating to the unprovoked assault of a corrections officer. Previous convictions for assault warranted an uplift in the sentence.Special post-detention conditions were imposed in relation to both sentences of imprisonment. Judgment Date: 13 May 2016.
