Sentencing — Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Court — Te Whare Whakapiki Wairua. The defendant was sentenced, on twelve charges, to 12 months’ intensive supervision with judicial monitoring in the AODT Court. While under AODT Court supervision defendant had reached rehabilitation targets, participated in voluntary work, gained employment, completed study and re-established relationships; all factors which would be helpful in his goal to live a crime-free life. His risk of reoffending was assessed as low if a commitment to abstinence from alcohol and crime was maintained.
