Sentencing — arson — intentional damage by fire. The defendant visited the victim's house to attack him, upon realising he was not home, he broke in through a window and set the house on fire. The defendant was sentenced to two years and seven months' imprisonment, and was ordered to pay reparation to the victim for the loss of his house and contents as well as emotional harm reparation, the total sum of reparations was $53,000. On sentencing, the court took into account an early guilty plea, the extent of loss suffered by the victim, and lack of remorse.
