The defendant was sentenced on a total of 39 charges - the most recent being the theft of a leaf blower. The first charge was obtaining by deception, whereby the defendant obtained a pecuniary advantage by deception of $450 from a pawnbroker. The defendant was released on bail and committed 38 further offences while subject to bail conditions. The court noted that the defendant was an extremely intelligent person but was not convinced that the defendant had rehabilitated. The defendant was sentenced to two years and three months' imprisonment after receiving a discount for his guilty pleas.
