Sentencing — rape — sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection — indecent assault. The defendant was the step-father of the child victim. The defendant's offending included instances of digital penetration and full sexual intercourse. The victim was coerced by non-violent means and the behaviour became normalised. A discount was given for the defendant's remorse, positive contribution towards reform and the defendant's early guilty plea. The defendant was sentenced to eight years and five months' imprisonment.
