Sentencing — aggravated robbery. The defendant was given a sentencing indication on a separate charge of arson which the defendant served without breach. The aggravated robbery matter came before the court for sentencing one month before the home detention sentence was due to end. In relation to the aggravated robbery the defendant and a co-offender visited a motel to have tattoo work done. The victim was threatened and believed that he was being held at gunpoint. The victim's tattoo kit and cellphone were taken causing a loss of $1,200. In sentencing, the court took into account the defendant's ability to complete a home detention sentence, other charges and the sentence faced by the co-offender. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months' home detention. Judgment Date: 18 May 2017.
